The Recycled Plastic Sailboat


Environmentalists created the sailboat that made from recycled plastic to travel across the Pasific Ocean from United States to Australia. It had sailled for four months and it was a successful completion. This sailboat make for remind people about plastic waste in the environment and recycle pastic in the benefical ways.

The atmosphere around gulf of Sydney, Australia, in a day that the sailboat came was very enjoyable. Everyone came to welcome 'Pastiki' the recycled pastic sailboat with six crews that from San Francisco, California, United States.

Pastiki was 18-meter high, and was built by 12,500 plastic bottle recycling connected by sugar cane and cashew. Therefore, using other meterials, such as a mast, made from recycled by aluminum pipe, and sail, made from recycled meterials.

A distance from California, U.S.A. to Sydney, Australia is around 15,000 kilometer. After finished sailling, Pastiki has displayed for showed people at National Maritime Museum in Sydney, Australia.
